GBB director, Paul Filder is to speak at the Shakespeares Motor Claims Day on Thursday 23rd May 2013 at De Vere Venues Colmore Gate Birmingham. The day will bring together a variety of speakers from varying backgrounds who will cover the following topics:

• Post Jackson – where are we?
• MIB claims and article 75
• Beating the fraudsters
• The Ogden Tables – do they mean what they say?
• RTAs and forensic evidence
• ULR and recoveries

 

Paul will provide an informative talk including real examples and crash test video about detailing benefits of forensic engineering evidence and also the pitfalls and common mistakes that are made by practitioners when considering vehicle damage.

 

GBB’s newest recruit Dr Rick Ellwood joined us on 8th April and after initial training is now busy inspecting vehicles.

Rick joins GBB from the Roads Policing/Collision Investigation department of Gwent Police after previously being a Research Engineer with steel manufacturer Corus in South Wales.
A Bachelor of Integrated Engineering With Automotive Studies Richard gained his engineering doctorate in the Fatigue Performance of Downgauged High Strength Steel Automotive Suspension Components.
Rick will operate in the south from his home in Newport, South Wales.

 

GBB expert Russell Danton has been asked to be a guest speaker at the forthcoming IFIG quarterly meeting at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Liverpool on Wednesday 6th March 2013.

The event, sponsored by Weightmans LLP will see Russell present a talk detailing his developing role as a forensic collision investigator within the GBB team and the use of GBB’s ongoing research in supporting his professional opinion.

This event kicks off a busy schedule of seminar attendances by the GBB team with more details posted on-line soon.

GBB will feature on the BBC televisions Claimed and Shamed, a documentary series that casts a covert eye over the ever-growing problem of insurance fraud.

GBB were asked to contribute after they examined a BMW that had been deliberately set on fire.

Claimed and Shamed will air on BBC 1 each weekday for a fortnight from 15th October 2012.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to a vacancy for a collision investigator within the south of the UK.

Working from home but through our head office as a forensic collision investigator you will be expected to consider documentation and instructions from the relevant Principal, in order to undertake forensic examination of vehicles or carry out a paper/desktop analysis. You will be expected to to take images/photographs to illustrate certain issues and to produce scientifically accurate, logical, concise reports covering all relevant points.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

1. Manage files, joint statements and CPR Part 35 questions, in accordance with company policy.

2. Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with customers and maintain courteous and professional relations with customers at all times.

3. Plan and implement journeys regarding vehicle examinations in accordance with company policy and health and safety advice.

4. Liaise with external agencies as required.

5. Manage, maintain and upkeep all records, equipment and the individual’s company vehicle.

6. Develop personal skills and capabilities and knowledge through ongoing training as provided by the company and by individual study.

7. Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy, effectiveness and identification of best practice.

8. To attend court or conference with counsel when required.

9. To maintain the company’s profile at the highest level through professional presentation and appearance at all times.

It is expected that you will be educated to at least BEng or Bsc level in an engineering based subject.

All necessary equipment and a vehicle will be provided………….salaries are negotiable but we offer an excellent incentive based payment package.
