Professional Services
Whilst our research makes us leaders in the field of low speed collisions, our expertise extends to many other areas. Our full portfolio of services is shown below.
Low-Speed Impact (LSI)
In many ways, low-speed impacts present a greater challenge to the investigator than high-speed impacts where much more evidence is usually available. Our experts are able to consider the consistency of damage, impact speed, and whether or not the whiplash mechanism is likely to have been triggered.
Suspected Fraud
Fraud is a major issue for insurance companies. In these cases, GBB is particularly adept at identifying evidence and producing reports which will support a genuine claim or which will negate a fraudulent claim.
Bus and Coach
Due to the numbers of passengers that may be involved, cases involving buses and coaches have the potential for incurring costs and insurance payouts that are often hugely disproportionate to the magnitude of the incident. Our research into bus and coach braking and our ability to carry out a full collision analysis has led to the resolution of a number of high-value claims.
Motor Cycle Collisions
Over the years we have handled a large number of cases involving the reconstruction and analysis of motor cycle accidents. Many of our investigators are experienced ex-police advanced motor cyclists and their specialist knowledge, together with our research into motorcycle decelerations, ensures that our investigations are thorough and authoritative.
HGV Rollover
There are many causes of HGV rollover. These incidents are usually very costly and unfortunately often involve serious injury or worse. Traffic and weather conditions, tachograph analysis, HGV loading and dimensions are just some of the factors that we consider when dealing with these cases.
Serious Injury Collision Reconstruction
These are often difficult and complex cases. Our approach is sensitive but otherwise entirely professional and impartial. We have a large amount of in-house experience at dealing with these types of cases and we are often able to reveal evidence or explore possibilities that have been overlooked by other agencies.
Fire Investigation
Incidents involving vehicle fires are handled by our expert who has received professional training in this specialist area. Establishing the cause of a fire often involves a painstaking process of elimination. Accidental as well as criminal causes are within our remit for investigation.
Assessors
Our in-house Assessor prepares valuations, component lists for damaged vehicles and repair costs with the aid of specialist software provided by Audatex and Glass's.
Manual Handling
Injuries and damage arising from the manual handling of goods and equipment give rise to a large number of claims each year. GBB have substantial knowledge and experience in this field of investigation.
Plan Drawing
For many investigations it is essential that accurate plan drawings are made of an accident scene. We accomplish this, where necessary, with the aid of our Total Station equipment and Ordnance Survey data. We are frequently asked to prepare accurate plans of the interior and exterior of buildings.
Criminal
At GBB we investigate all types of vehicle related crime such as speeding, dangerous driving, due care, traffic light offences and theft. The police background of many of our experts make us the preferred choice for these types of investigations.
Mechanical Failure
Our qualified engineers, carry out mechanical examinations of engines and components to determine the cause of failure or under-performance. These examinations are supported by our Research Department which can apply a range of analytical methods to look in more detail at certain aspects of any case.
Tachograph Analysis
The analysis of tachograph traces is fundamental to some of our investigations such as HGV rollover and fraud involving HGV’s. In addition to these areas, we offer training in all aspects of tachograph analysis and Drivers' Hours Legislation.
